Add ‘I Will’ to Your Morning Vocabulary

June 25th, 2010

You wake up, your eyelids stuck shut. You ramble through your morning routine, with a deep sigh. Caffeine helps. A shower helps a little more. Then you’re finally ready to face (sigh) another day. How did things get to be this way? Or better, how did you get to be this way? You wonder if there was ever a time when you didn’t feel so shut down, fearful, crazed, and diminished.

We spend all day trying to bend the “I cant’s” into “I’ll try’s” and hoping for the best. It may be that all we need is a single “I will.” It can be one of your choosing, or something like:

I will enjoy it. I will laugh through it. I will bless it up, down and sideways.

Stop Comparing Yourself to Others - Life’s Enough

October 6th, 2009

If you took the strengths of others, and compared them to your weaknesses, how do you think you’d size up? And do you think this would make you feel good?

The funny thing is, this is what most of us do at one time or another — and some of us do pretty often. It’s a sure-fire recipe for a drop in self-confidence and for unhappiness. It’s also not that useful.

It’s so important — being able to look at your own strengths, and see your true value. It’s actually one of the keys to success, because without this ability, you will be unmotivated, and won’t believe in yourself.

Learning to Accept the Things That We Perceive as Wrong

Learning to accept the things that we perceive as wrong can be a difficult task for many of us. Often we have been brought up to accept that it is normal to feel guilty about our actions and that by doing so we will make everything seem alright within ourselves.
